Gymnastics Overview

Ok, so I’m pretty behind on these Olympic blogs, but I’m going to try and catch up a bit. This will probably be a very short and brief post.

This post is mostly to talk about women’s gymnastics, in the singles events. More specifically, looking at Shawn Johnson & Nastia Luikin and they’re individual event competitions.

They both walked away with the Gold and Silver in the all-around event, but then they had a few more chances to take home some medals.

They both had a few individual events where they took home some medals.

Shawn finally got her Gold in the balance beam. We all know it was well deserved. Congratulations Shawn!

Nastia, unfortunately, got silver for the uneven bars, even though she tied He, who got the Gold. The tie breaker was so complex and complicated, I don’t even know how they did it. Nastia deserved it. Now, this may just be my opinion, but if you noticed each one of their landings, they both had an extra step, but He’s was so much worse than Nastia’s. I say that since Nastia’s landing was better, she should have gotten better points. But, who am I to say, I’m only an observer.

They both were amazing though this entire time. They had fun, and they did what they came here to do. Congratulations to the both of them.
